Unitus' Board of Directors are part of our Official Family, and serve voluntarily on behalf of the members. The Board establishes the credit union's direction by adopting policies that set a strategic direction for the organization and provide overall framework.

Barbara Leonard Chair Volunteer Since: 1994 Unitus Member Since: 1970 Barbara chairs both the Unitus Executive Committee and the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO). She retired from US West (Qwest) after over 30 years of service. She majored in Business Administration at the University of Oregon. Barbara is an active member in the following organizations: Past President of the Portland Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. Barbara serves on the Links, Incorporated, Western Area Nomination Committee. She served as the Co-Chairman of the Links' National Assembly in 2008. She is a previous Board member and continued supporter of The YWCA of Greater Portland. At Maranatha Church, she serves as the Director of the Greeters' Ministry, Children's Church Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Offering Counting Team, Past Chairman of the Pastor's Appreciation Committee, and is a Deaconess. She is the supporter of many other community organizations. Barbara and her husband Ben have one son and one daughter, two stepdaughters, thirteen grandchildren and two great grandsons. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys league bowling and spending time with her family and extended family. |

Don Mason Vice Chair Volunteer Since: 2004 Unitus Member Since: 1974 Don was elected to the Unitus Board in 2004 following an initial Board appointment in April 2002. He currently serves as Chairman of the Finance Committee and is a member of the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) and Executive Committee. Prior to being appointed to the Board, Don served two years as a member of the Supervisory Committee. He has been a member of Unitus Community Credit Union since 1974. Don has an MBA degree from Oregon State University. He retired from Qwest in 2008 as Oregon Regulatory Director after 34 years of service in a variety of positions in Public Policy, finance, marketing and corporate/strategic planning. Don is currently homeowner association Treasurer and AARP Tax-Aide volunteer counselor (IRS certified). He and his wife Rose live in Charbonneau and have two grown children. |

Tom Faulkner Board Secretary Volunteer Since: 2001 Unitus Member Since: 1966 Appointed to the Unitus Board of Directors in August 2001 and a member of Unitus since 1966. He currently serves as Board Secretary and is a member of the Governance Committee. Tom retired in 1999 after a 33-year career with Qwest. His career included 23 years of managing regional operations for construction and public communications. He has attended many board training conferences, attended the Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, DC twice and completed all of the Volunteer Achievement courses. Tom is a volunteer at a Senior Food Bank, a Senior Center, and at CCI, an agency for mentally and physically disabled individuals. Tom has two daughters, a stepson, three grandchildren and lives in Estacada with his wife Rhonda. |

Terry Gavin Director Volunteer Since: 1983 Unitus Member Since: 1954 Terry is the immediate-past Chairman of the Unitus Board of Directors and an active Board member since 1983. Retired from Pacific Northwest Bell (Qwest) Communications in 1990 after 36 years of service. Terry has participated in numerous board training programs conducted by the Credit Union Association of Oregon, represented Unitus Community Credit Union at the 1987 through 2002 ITCUA conferences and attended the Governmental Affairs Conferences in Washington DC in 2002, 2006 and 2008. He is a member of the Unitus Executive Committee, the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO) and the Finance Committee. Terry and his wife Linda live in the Clackamas, Happy Valley area. He has two married daughters and four grandchildren, all members of Unitus. |

Vernon "Pete" Reinecker Director Volunteer Since: 1997 Unitus Member Since: 1971 Prior to serving on the Unitus Board of Directors , Pete served on the Supervisory Committee for over 20 years and was Chairman of that committee several times. Pete is currently Chairman of the Unitus Governance Committee. He has attended numerous educational conferences and workshops over the years. Pete retired from Pacific Northwest Bell (Qwest) after over 30 years of service. Prior to joining the Bell System, he spent 10 years in banking after graduating from college with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He serves as the Finance Chairman of his church, is on the Board of Directors of the Oregon Youth Leadership Seminar, Chairman of the Oregon JCI Senate Foundation, and is a volunteer tour guide at The Oregon Garden. Pete and his wife Lynn reside in Oregon City. |

Matt Goodwin Director Volunteer Since: 2009 Unitus Member Since: 2005 Prior to being elected to the Unitus Board of Directors, Matt served on the Supervisory Committee for three years. He is a Unitus Community Credit Union member since 2005. Matt graduated from George Fox University with a degree in Finance and Accounting. He currently works for CU Business Group, helping credit unions offer business services. In 2003, Matt represented Oregon credit unions in Uzbekistan with the Credit Union Association of Oregon and the World Council of Credit Unions. Matt lives in Tigard. |

Susan Iggulden Director Volunteer Since: 2009 Unitus Member Since: 1984 Sue started her career at Pacific Northwest Bell, where she worked while attending Portland State University. She graduated with a degree in Speech Communication, and then moved into the world of commercial real estate. Sue currently works for Colliers International, where she leads the Real Estate Management Services team for Oregon and SW Washington. She is a volunteer with Medical Teams International, and has worked with teams in both Romania and Moldova. In her spare time Sue enjoys "horsing around" with friends in the Morgan Horse world. Sue lives in Gresham. |
